About CMMS

The Chesapeake Microscopy & Microanalysis Society (CMMS) is a local professional society, committed to advancing the knowledge and application of microscopy and microanalysis techniques and to promote the free exchange of information among our academic, governmental, industrial and corporate members around the DC, Maryland, and Virginia region. CMMS is a local affiliated society of both the Microscopy Society of America (MSA) and the Microbeam Analysis Society (MAS).

We organize at least two formal meetings per year in the spring and fall and invite local and nationally known experts to discuss current techniques and microscopy related research of a variety of topics. We also strive to organize social events, workshops and other networking opportunities whenever possible.
